Anyone else affected by Twiends Facebook outage? What alternate sites are you using to get through this and deliver the numbers while they work it out?

Here's the message on the site:

Facebook Connectivity Issue
Hi, we are currently experiencing a connectivity issue with facebook. We are unable to authenticate twiends with facebook since the 14th of June.

What has happened?

We are not sure if this is a deliberate action on facebook's part or a technical issue. We have lodged various support requests with facebook but have not had a reply from them yet. We have been very careful to ensure that we conform to facebook's terms of service and don't feel that twiends should have been blocked due to any rule violations. We unfortunately have no way to verify this with facebook until they actually respond to our support requests though. We have also not received any communication from facebook notifying us of an issue. So we're pretty much in the dark as to what is happening right now.

How long will this take?

From experience we know that it could take a week or two to resolve an issue like this with a large company like facebook. They are just not very responsive to their developer community, and we have to work to their timeframes.

Is anything happening to Twiends?

Twiends is not going anywhere, and we'll continue to provide ways for our members to grow their social networks. We want facebook to be a part of that and will work with them to try and resolve the issue as quickly as possible.. We have a number of exciting features in the pipeline to improve the service and will be rolling these out steadily over the coming weeks and months.

Can I help?

Well, if you have any contacts at facebook please let us know. We have made requests for assistance through their normal channels, but any alternative contacts will be appreciated.

We?re really sorry for the disruption to the service. Resolving this is our number one priority right now...

Someone posted yesterday that twiends had their facebook api key suspended.

This sucks. I just started using twiends the day before it went down and already had 600 likes... In the 24 hours since then I've got a grand total of 20 likes between Increasr and Twimates combined, :(

I'm still looking for a good alternative...

This is just another prime example of another company getting big, and then wanting to play god and dictator. Myspace tried to dictate, and people got tired of it and Facebook was coming up at just the right time.

Facebook feels that everyone in the world should work on there time frame and on their beliefs. Its my profile page, if I want to like someone, then why does Facebook have to dictate who and how I like someone. Really Facebook?

They have 650,000,000 members... but an estimated 1/3 or more of them are actually dummy accounts. Accounts that people have opened just to un fan pages, or other reasons... like Twiends.

But, like Myspace. If Facebook continues to play the Dictator card, it will face the same end as Myspace. At one time, everyone thought, including Myspace, that it was to big to fail. Arrogance at its best!

Twimates and another sites also doesnt work, On twimates you cant add new Fan page :S

Any of these facebook, twitter, and youtube growing sites that can be easily manipulated by simple iMacro will always have issues.

My guess is tweinds will have to implement a system similar to traffic exchanges where you have to match pictures to move onto the next page.

It's the same reason why they ended up removing the website section of tweinds because Google complained to them.

seems like they will be gone for big time fb will never let any such thing stay for long

Ouch! The traffic from the twiends likes was useless but the numbers were good enough as social proof and impressing clueless clients. It really was just a matter of time though with a company like FB.

I can help you out.......no admin, and i drive 1k US for $67 but its fast and your not going to lose a lot after....

Not sure why facebook has to do this kind of stuff. It's not like it's really hurting anything.

Well FB probably see it as taking away from their advertising revenue. They want people paying to promote fanpages through their own PPC medium not getting thousands of fans free.

exactly! that's why they made it so you couldn't just invite all your friends to your page since they kept pushing placing an ad to do that for you. more sites will pop up, but for now at least there's some good services that provide these likes.

Well they made an announcement that tweinds facebook support is now history. No more facebook fan page likes from twiends. It was nice while it lasted.

Facebook wants to promote their advertisement and that's one of the main reason they closed down.its very bad for us.Don,t know is there any alternate or not.

sorry need link

C-Man is the real deal! Awesome service and a great alternative to Twiends and all the other sites that don't work with FB anymore. I was concerned at first because of whatever FB did but I guess C-Man has a different way of going about it because my first order started building likes right away and the are pretty much all sticking. I was in a panic because FB likes are about 1/3 of my revenue these days and I really thought it was over until I found this.

Thanks man! Keep up the great work.

I agree with inftee, especially for my ecommerce sites, I would display the likes in my wibiya bar and it would increase consumer confidence. Does anyone know how to get "likes" now that all of the main social add sites api has been disabled?
