I hear you, mine isn't working either and I pushed a new account a little far and got it suspended right before the error messages... sucks

The problem is with the old versions only the latest version is not giving this error:

I just downloaded the free version and check the follow/unfollow feature and its working property.

But the same feature when i tried with my old version then its giving me the same error of unable to connect

We need to have the latest version

That means you're using the old version because it has been working for the past few days.

This will mainly occur because sometimes site will be too heavy that it cause problem to load pages therefore you can wait until this problem has been sort out.
