My tweetadder 3 was running fine, but in the past few days its stopped adding followers and shows this error:

<username> - 29/10/2010 13:22:30 - Follow Failed - Error: Not found","request":"\/1\/friendships\/create.json

I've mailed support but no answer for days now. Anyone know what the error means? I'm using tweetadder on OS X.

I got the same error on Windows XP.
Just got this reply from tweetadder support....

"Twitter had released a database update that caused some errors on their side the past few days (please visit twitter and click 'status' at the bottom for more information).
If you haven't already, please make sure you've updated to Tweetadder 3.0 build # 101029. "

Just installed the new version and it seems to be working fine again

I had to download and install newest version, set all my profiles to "new twitter" then even delete the accounts on tweetadder and re-add each one of them.

I was getting errors whenever the proxy was enabled.

So, I enabled without proxy, let it login, then disabled, waited several minutes, then enabled proxy and logged in again. Sometimes it would take 2 or 3 times to get logged in without error, but eventually all accounts are in and running.

Bumping this as I'm now getting the same error:

Follow Failed - Error: Could not authenticate you.","request":"\/1\/friendships\/create.json

This is only happening on 1 of my accounts.

On another account, which I've had to turn off I get the error message:

Follow Skipped - userid could not be found.
(even though it does exist)

Is anybody else's recently getting errors?

Seems to be proxy related errors. How do you have your proxy configured?

You can test it using the browser with the proxy: you'll get the same error on twitter.

Nah I sorted it.

It was to do with a setting inside the Twitter settings itself, not Tweet Adder.

Sorry for the delay.

Basically, all you need to do is this:

1) Turn off the Twitter account inside Tweet Adder

2) Go to your Twitter account and go to settings. Then just click 'save' at the bottom. Make sure the 'always use HTTPS' is unchecked, but even if it isn't... just save it again, without making any changes.

3) Go back to Tweet Adder and turn it back on.

I'm not sure why this works as nothing is actually changed. It's just saved again and for some reason that does the trick.

I noticed one of my accounts was doing it this morning so I just saved it again and it's following again now.

Let me know how you get on!

muchacho, you're getting around the problem. I have studied this a lot and found the real issue. It has to do with the headers the proxy sends/blocks.

When moving to port 443 (https) you're using different settings than on the regular port. Luckily enough those work for you, but might not do the trick for others. Thanks anyway.

Well I have 2 x Tweet Adders, one on my PC and the other on my VPS.

My above method works with both, so one would guess this will work for the majority of people.

I guess if anybody has had the same problem, post whether it worked for you.
