And no, they can't take away your domain, what they can do is ask your hosting provider, The Entity that actually stores your sites information and makes it accessible online, to take it down.

Ideally, that would be a completely separate company from your domain registrar.

Think of it this way:

Let's say you were going to go camping at a campground with your RV.

Your RV (motorhome, whatever) is your domain name, and the campground space that you are renting for your camping trip is the hosting provider.

You owned your RV before you got there obviously you came there with it much like you are, hopefully, going to sign up with your hosting provider after you've already secured a domain name elsewhere.

If, during your camping trip you throw a wild Rowdy party which ruins the experience of other nearby campers and it has been decided that you can no longer Camp there.

In that circumstance, they do not take away your RV (domain name), Nor do they contact the company that sold or leased you the RV (registrar) have it taken away from you. They simply tell you you can no longer Camp(host your site there) and if necessary have your RV towed off their property ( in this case, have your website taken off their server).

The only way you could really end up having your domain taken away from you is after losing a lawsuit for a deliberate trademark violation (eg registering a domain such as amazon.(new tld) that was clearly registered with the intent of defrauding people or leeching off their reputation or something similar.

You cannot get your you cannot get your domain name taken away by your registrar due to dcma, dcma is completely separate
