Hello Everyone,

Im gonna create a TV Show Streaming Website, basically its gonna blow big! Ive got some premium website names and it'll surely rank high!

My question is if the video is on MegaVideo, the server hosting the site is in America, the domain registar is in America but Im in the UK, can the American Government Seize my site?

Ive seen loads of news about movie sites getting seized by the Feds from the torrentfreak(.)com blog so its got me wondering if I set up my site they might just seize my domain/shut me down etc? :confused:

But on the flip side, Ive seen TV Show sites running and they havent been shut down! eg watch-lost-online-free(.)com (they're servers are in canada I think) Maybe its coz they're located in Monteral so the feds cant touch them???? Ive also noticed hes not running any adsense ads, would the BIG G ban your adsense account for running a tv show streaming site? (well I suppose it goes agaisnt their T&C i.e piracy and all that) but then again hes running Adbrite ads! (Adbrite dont care as much????) so its safe to run adbrite ads? :cool:

Would C.P.ALead ban/penalise? if I put a gateway on the content? I suppose its goes agaisnt their T & C aswell but everyone seems to be doing it!! :D Or will I have to go the Black Hat way, i.e BHCB, Fake Referer etc ;)

:confused:Well I suppose inevitably I would have to transfer my domain to an ofshore registar, get ofshore hosting and ultimately host the video on my own server to prevent the video being removed all the time as it is on MegaVideo:confused:

All in all, im just looking for some tips here and there from someone who does TV Show Streaming Websites.

First off if you host off shore in another country besides the United States then you should be fine but since MegaVideo hosts their files in the states then be sure to check your videos every once in a while because they will get deleted eventually.

I don't think having a domain name registered in the states will have you worrying about having your site seized. A domain is just a name pointing to your site. That has nothing to do with hosting videos on your site.

Finding the right affiliate / CPA company will be the key to your success. What ever you do, do not put Adsense on your television site because eventually your account will be banned for good. Sometimes sooner and sometimes later it just depends on how fast they catch on to you. Preferably I have always used affiliate gateways to keep a restriction on access to my movie sites. I have done this on many sites and have never had a problem.

Back in the day when movie sites where super hot I made $3000 in 10 days with no problem. Now its going to be a little tougher to make that type of money but with a week worth of work and promotion I could see you making $20 a day maybe more just depending on what type of content you have on your site and how unique it is. I have a couple years of experience in the niche so if you need any help just throw me a line.

Im looking to make only TV Show specific sites not movies, Ive got 4 TV Shows in mind which I have faith that I'll rank top in Go.ogle for. The only thing I need is a wordpress blog which is Movie friendly and has multiple locations for Ads to be placed.

The site watch-lost-online-free(.)com would have been a PERFECT template for me to use but ive search high and low for smiliar ones to no avial!

What theme(s) do you use that is Ad and Movie centric? I suppose the only ads I will put on it are Adbrite since all the movie sites I look at seem to be running them fine and for a very long period aswell.

If MegaVideo keeps taking down a video couldnt I just keep re-uploading it? they might ban my I.P but theres always proxies etc

I was thinking of maybe just getting a server ofshore and loading it with ONLY the TV Shows to stream to my sites hosted in America (Well that would be if I couldnt find the shows ANYWHERE at all, its sort of a LAST RESORT RESORT lol)

$3,000 in 10 days sound good but that was back in the day though!

I thought C.P.A Companies such as Ad.scend media, C.P.A.Lead etc dont allow the use of Gateways to pirated content? Surely having Gateways to Movie sites and to my potential TV Streaming Site Violates this? and if they find out they'll just suspend/ban my account? The funny thing is I see LOTS of people still doing this and still going on strong might I add. Im just confused about this part. What Companies are OK to use?

Porn movies are easier to promote then movies. A guy will do alot more things to see a lady show her ass and tits then to see the expandables.

Im looking to do TV shows not Movies and i have no doubt i'll rank high for them. I just need a advert and tv show centric wordpress theme.

Some people use a gateway such as C.P.A.Lead's but surely this goes agaisnt their T & C? or they simply playing with fire?
 
I personally have an anime show website which is also hosted in the USA (I'm not 100% sure though). You won't get caught by the feds but your hosting account could get banned. I had this happen one time when my hosting account was still with bluehost.

As for your layout, I think you should create one yourself (if you're able too). Just take everything from your favorite tv-show website and put it into one theme.

Also megavideo bans accounts that upload like 20 episodes a day. I had this happen before and it got me a permaban + 200 removed videos.

They might if they find out what your doing since were not suppose to use copyright material as an incentive to fill out ads etc.

copyright material goes against there terms and conditions and is subject to a ban and complete loss of earnings unless you own the copyright!

The funny thing is I see people doin this all the time regardless :D

To tell the truth, If I was you, I wouldn't even bother starting a streaming site. I have a method that gets me around 10k hits a day for a few days, then it peters out. I just keep rinsing and repeating
 
Come to think of it I've got "my-streaming-free-tv.net" if anyone who has a namecheap
account wants it for free. Good until november never been hosted.

I suppose only time will tell if they'll get big or not,

How could I monetize the traffic? This is the main part I suppose!

C.P.ALead - Copyrighted Material which will equal a Ban

I can use...

Adbrite - Everyone seems to be using them and it looks like they dont care???? :confused:

Black Hat Techniques - Black Hat Code Breaker and Fake The Referer for reward sites??!! ( C.P.A.Lead, Adsend Media etc)

Anything else I can use/do to monetize my potential traffic?

My thoughts exactly, why was TVShack(.)net seized????


If I search "Watch LOST online" which gets searched broadly 300,000 times a month and exactly 135,000 times a month this could roughly mean 6,000-10,000 searches a day!

I get cucirca(.)com and watch-lost-online-free(.)com and watchloststreaming(.)com as the top three. Now imagine you owned the top 3 for these searchs!!!!!! This is where Im getting at. Ive got the potential to do this, now all I wanna know is how I can monteize the traffic.

Why is cucirca(.)com and watch-lost-online-free(.)com and watchloststreaming(.)com not seized??????

Im scared that if I make my site like that, the feds might seize my domain. But why aint the above seized?

The Feds seized TVShack(.)net, does that mean the domain owners cant transfer their domain/hosting to someone else, say onto an offshore host etc?
 
Let me bust your bubble: you bring as an example Lost. Lost is over, those search numbers are not updated nor reliable, in my experience. Tv shows, like movies, are trending phenomena, today you get a lot of people searching for the last episode aired, in a month, for the same kw, you won't have much traffic at all. And when a tv show is over, people who watch tv shows will watch something new. Only a few will still be searching for a show in the past, once in a while.

Moreover, you will have to face a fierce competition that's many years ahead of you, since they started long time ago and where there when most of people were searching for that kws making the most money out of it. You'll have to work your ass off and collect only peanuts. It's not worth your time.

If you really want to go down this road you should target new tv shows that are going to be aired next season/next fall and start ranking their sites as soon as possible.

Personally I suggest you not because of the increasing signs of intolerance showed by the big dogs of the enterteinment industry and the government institutions in the usa to these kind of sites. Being in the UK doesn't help you since US and UK are closes buddies and it will be easy for you to get prosecuted.

Plus, you seems to be new to this game and you don't look like you know what you are doing which will get you outsmarted big times by the agencies, if you'll ever come up in their radars.

There is a chance for you to get away with this, of course, most of the people that did this got away, yet the bigger you become, the more you risk.

In your circumstances, even thinking to host those tv shows on your own server... will persuade anybody that's been into this game to suggest you spending your time doing something else for your own good and safety.

In the best case, you won't make much. There's no easy money in this "business" anymore.

Your question seems to be "how do I not get seized". I owned a Family Guy site which did very well. I didn't get seized either because the corps never found me or because of my policy where I talked about how none of the shows are actually hosted by my site. They are all hosted by 3rd parties and I am just a parasite delivering their content. Go yell at them.

Im not looking to rank for Lost at all! I just used that as a potential traffic margin at what im trying to achieve.

I fully know what Im doing, it may say Im a newbie but Im fully adept Online and proficient in what I intend to do. Although I have a low post count it doesnt mean I dumb.

Im can occupy the top 3 searches for upcoming US TV Shows, all Im looking for are ways/ideas to montenize the traffic. Any help and suggestions would be greatly apprechiated. Although I have some, more would be better.

I monetized my traffic with SeePeeEy(CPA)-Lead gateways. I would let them watch their show for 15 seconds so they know the site is legit and then hit them with the gateway.
