I just opened an account with them a few weeks ago and they didn't ask me for utility bill or anything as proof of address... They opened my account within minutes after aplyingBro, pls. Mercury doesn't onboard foreigner pass through LLCs anymore which can't provide an "Utility bill" or other significant proof of address in the USA as in "US operations". So, of course they open for a foreigner, just not for the 99,99% of pass through entities.
That's not true, I just opened a mercury bank account as a foreigner a few weeks ago...
Still possible
I do have US Operations, and I'll be filing form 1040-NR. USA has a double taxation treaty with my country so I'll be paying nothing. Or what do you mean US operations? Like actual physical presence in the states in someway is required?Simple.

what happens to the funds then? 180 days hold like pp?I had 2 accounts closed recently (~2 months ago) because the "proof of address" I presented them for the "US operations" wasn't enough. The accounts were 2+ years old. They warned me before that "US operations" is needed. And an "US operations" means tax liable in the US. I wouldn't count on them. Good luck.

Yes for both. I am liable to file federal taxes, but actually taxes in my country are higher that I get a tax credit in the states and pay nothing. I'll simply pay income tax in my country, nothing else, thanks to our double taxation treaty. They sent warnings that they will close the accounts if not following their requirements and I stopped using them until there's a decision.
You might be liable for sales tax and maybe federal taxes and so forth.
