I will be explaining this thread here

Firstly I have tested this on my account, I normally range from 200-300 likes. When I did this for 2 pictures both got over 1,000+ likes! Today I tested it again without and I go about 300 likes again.

Basically what this feature does it puts your post on the top of people's feed (not a fact, just from my tests)

Here is a tip though:

Just put that in your caption (won't work if you put it in comments) and then wait a few minutes, and then edit your caption to something less spammy!

You will get insane engagement!

Also this obviously won't work if you have a small account to being with, I would say this would work with accounts over 5k followers.

been seeing this a lot lately. looks a bit desperate.

also if you edit the caption, won't the notificaiton for the targeted account disappear as well?

Don't waste your time, it doesn't work 1 bit. Already patched, tag yourself among those usernames, you won't get notified anymore.
 
Do you want more engagement then you required lots of likes over Instagram image to get audience attention. Try to grow number of likes on image to make image viral.
 
yea and end up loosing your account for spamming? Stupid method!

This will hurt your account, not help with the engagement. I suggest everyone to not try this.
 
Btw I tryed but instagram does not let me put all those tags
 
Yet again, a bunch of people on here with zero clue what they're talking about.

It DOES (or did) work. The notifications are not the point of it, but to bring the post to the top of your follower's feed. No one knows exactly WHY it did this, but it did, as myself and hundreds of others can testify to significant increases in engagement.

Problem is, it was patched sometime this morning, so now if you upload a pic or video with the tags, your whole caption will be deleted. Don't bother at this point.
 
Yeah just got patched, this is one of the reasons why you should be careful with what you write on the public sections of a forum.

Well it's patched now. I saw 100k quote pages getting 20k likes from this method. It did work.
