Tutorial for cheap legal Driving License

Well I was just going to post this as an answer to Mr. Santos' offer to buy a driving license from him (lol), but unfortunately it had been removed, so I felt like opening a new thread for this (or all my writing would had been for nothing):

There is a much easier and cheaper way, and legal. Here comes my 100% legal tutorial for How To Get A Real Driving License And Save Money By Doing So:

1. Choose a third or second world country that you really like (culture, food, landscapes all important) and is very cheap, some examples: Colombia, Bolivia, Mexico, Kenya, Malawi, Laos, Cambodia, Ghana, Kongo etc.
2. Save some money for airplane ticket (should not be more than 500-1000$ depending where you live) and around 1200-2000$ for living there >180 days (most these countries you live like a king with 200$ a month)
3. Live there at least 181 days (in some you might have to spend some additional money for a visa or to marry a girl there) and have the best time of your life (You can live easily with 1-2$ a day in many of them! Excluded rent; room max 25-50$, flat max 50-100$, house max 150-300$ per month)
4. Buy (yes buy, dont make) a driving license in that country in those 180 days. Colombian and others officials charge around 30-50$ for 4 years license, if you want to save money you can also make the test (then it costs only 10-20$).
5. Go back after 181 days and go to your home countries government office for driving licenses, there you can now proof you already have a license and "rewrite" it to a local drivers license (at least in Germany this works, but Im sure in other countries there also exist these "holes").
6. -> Drive!

Now in all that time you saved at least 80% of your living costs as well as costs for driving license and test, if you come from a first world country. And if you earn money online, you might end up with a nice profit.

I pay $13 every four years for my license.. I'd rather travel for other purposes.

I thought they closed this loophole a few years ago in Germany... there is another way around though... you can still take your third world license and change it in Poland to a EU drivers license which you then can use to drive also in Germany...

The costs are going to be much higher when you factor in paying for a good internet line, and living in a safe area with items purchased to reduce the risk of theft or the possible damages from it.

Well you may want to check with the country you live in. Some will let you transfer the license if from a country that has decent standards for the license, but for others you will have to take the theoretical part or even some driving lessons. So if you were taught well you may be ok to pass but if not well back to square one.
All in I highly doubt you would save that much given airfare, living expenses, transferring license (if at all possible) and all the hassle along with it. Keep in mind if you want to do it by 17-18 there may be other challenges to think about when doing this as well.

So spend $3000-4000 in 6 months for a license but no knowledge, instead of spending $1000-$3000 and get a license and the driving knowledge in a couple of weeks in your home country? No thanks. The cost of the average drivers license in Germany is around $1800 btw.

Internet is about 20$ a month, line of course not so good as most of us are used to.
Theft protection is not really needed if you dont have something to loose, of course you should not live in dangerous areas or areas where they hate foreigners.
Even with your expenses it won't be much more. For example in Mexico it is quite standard, if you live in a house that this house is in a "privada" (private street) with security personal, and it does not cost more than a house in the city center (even less) in a "public" street. You can rent a house in a privada in mexico for around 200-300$ a month, in a good area (in central mexico, not in the poor south states where it would be less than the half).

In the end it depends though what you want to protect.

But if you want decent internet you are going to have to pay way more than 20$ a month to equal the quality in 1st world nations.

really dude ? for a driving license? all that work ? here in my country you can pay 200-300 bucks and get one within 2 months or pay cash like 1 grand and get it very fast without doing anything..
