This, I looked at a few niches, they all seemed to be quite saturated or inhabited by IM veterans who can make your life harder

The two links doesn't justify you in any way. A redirect checker and some ugly-ass website that looks like it was made by a 10year old doesn't prove anything. Also, I should do my own bullshit checking? I DID my own bullshit checking, hence why I stated that my youtube videos with youtube's own shorturl's ranked firstpage as good as the normal ones. It doesn't make any sense that youtube would rather count full video backlinks better then their own shortlinks, that are provided for people to use and share, as they encourage to share with their short-links through social medias. Unless you can prove me 100% wrong, I still think you're just throwing out random bullshit.

One of the best things about this is how quickly those videos can get injected into the serps. Works great for really super early affiliate stuff like green coffee or ketones or whatever that dr oz talks about

I would argue with this but you didn't actually say anything about the discussion other than "I don't think that's right".

Is this even worth debating? All I'm saying is that the shortened link is a 302 redirect and we have a myriad of sources that says Google devalues links to 302'ed pages. I'm not saying you need to dramatically alter your SEO plan, I'm just saying you should be conscious of the linking patterns to your site and try to make as many of them direct as possible. I don't care what you build links to or what you think is bullshit, I'm simply putting 2 and 2 together.

I didn't bring anything to the discussion? We are not discussing about ranking websites on google here, we're discussing about ranking youtube videos. I still don't think it makes any sense that youtube would put less value in their OWN short-links to videos that they ENCOURAGE people to use.

If this is worth debating? Yes it is, for me, as if I am doing something the wrong way I would really want to know so I could fix the error. And that's the problem, you're implying that using youtube's own short-link's devalues the backlink, but in my experience in ranking videos this is not the case, which means that either I am wrong, or you are. So if you can't come up with any proof that using youtube's own short-link's is not as good as the normal ones, I will continue to use the short-links, and build the way I always did. Im just getting tierd of people saying "don't do this, don't do that" without any actual proof. If you are right I'm sorry for taking your time, but in my experience that I've had, I dont think you are.

I don't build links to redirect pages if I don't have to. Maybe it's a safe gamble that Google made algorithmic changes to the off-site 302 youtu.be, but why make that gamble if you don't have to.

SEO is a world of grey, all I'm doing is suggesting the path of least possible resistance. I never told anyone what to do I simply pointed out a couple things that I've realized after SEO'ing hundreds of Youtube videos. Building links to a 302 redirect can still work, but traditionally even a 301 redirect loses some link juice.

I'm going to have to agree with you on this. Although i've never tried it but form all the "Experts" i've heard, it's much better to do SEO on the actual link then on a redirect..
