(I had wrote a more indepth guide but the forum restricted me from posting it)
Something i've picked up from buying domain's i've done this with multiple domains, still works to my knowledge if it doesn't or stops working let me know.
We will be using promo codes, these can be used more than once.
(THESE ARE NOT AFFLIATE PROMO CODES,if you would like google them)

1:Go to netfirms,and register a domain(wait for step 2 before you checkout)
2:When you checkout use promo code: LOVE
3:Now you have a domain for 1 year at 5 dollars
4:Wait 60-90days (during this time you can use the domain as normal)
5:After that peroid buy a domain transfer at namecheap(step 6 before checkout)
6:Use Promo code SWITCH2NC during your domain transfer purchase
7:Enjoy your 2nd year
8:You're Finish,You've just gotten 2 years for the price of one with a little bit of effort on your part

Note:if any of these promo codes stop working or expire check at retailmenot

& if you have any questions let me know

This is focused on commercial type domains but it may also work on other domain types
(For those who don't know commercial type is what blackhatworld uses and it is the most popular domain type i can't say it because of forum restrictions)

Good find. Time to do some more keyword research so I can register a new emd niche site :)

Glad i could help,

I Believe someone mentioned on here a promotion for 1and1 sometimes for 2 dollars so you might give that a try if it's still around,

and there's probably other registrars that offer cheap transfers so you might be able to this for quite a few years with research i'll post if i find any others

good contribution bro. i wont use it but im sure someone here will

I Realize it wont help everyone, but it's something i personally do when i buy a new domain and I've been reading a lot of guides and figured i'd contribute to the community.

Note/Update:
Network solutions has 4.95 transfer so they could be your third year

Wow, thank you very much!!! I just picked up a domain in the last few days for a new business I am launching and I will DEFINITELY be making use of this!

Is there a reason you need to wait 60-90 days before transferring?

I have been doing business online for several years and never heard of using this method. Hopefully 1and1 doesn't screw me somehow when I transfer out, though... I have read some horrible things about the company :O

It's a lot less complicated, the original domain registrar tries to hold onto you for at least 60-90 i believe it's a guideline set by a commission/committee that you can't transfer till after that amount of time,i've tried to transfer right after i buy with no luck, just wait out the 60-90 day period,i think 61 days should be fine

You dont have to wait 60-90 days to do these steps. You can register the domain with netfirms for $5, and I do that from last month.

And you can do a transfer right away, and the transfer will automatically happen after the said days.

I have a domain name transfer set, from Netfirms to Internet.bs and it will automatically happen on Dec 13 :) I dont have to care about it, and nameservers and shit is already set too :D

Good to hear extreme,

I just noted it because that's an issue i had when transfering but if it's working fine for others that's great to hear
