It's been a while since I shared a method with you guys so...

I've been doing pretty well lately with a simple offline advertising method. I recently moved to a big city and we live near a street with tons of stores and shops on it. The street is about 20 miles long and is one of those streets that have those big steel poles at every intersection to hold up the traffic lights.

I noticed there were lots of yard signs along it advertising everything from weight-loss products to electric cigarettes. This actually got me thinking so I went online and ordered myself a 25 foot roll of magnetic white vinyl (24" x 25') for $90. I guess it's the same stuff they make magnetic car stickers out of. I also bought myself an X-ACTO knife, some big stencils and a can of black spray paint made plastic.

After a couple hours of work I had made myself 100 (6" x 12") magnetic signs just like the one below.

The domain I used for the signs is one I bought a while back using a gift card and a VPN. I chose it because it's short and easy to remember.

I have it forwarded to a 'Pay Per Sale' affiliate link for the dating network I promote. There are lots of online dating sites out there with affiliate programs. The tricky part is finding one that doesn't shave and where your conversions and stats stay pretty consistent over a long period of time. If you try one that you make alot of money with at first, then you notice a big drop in conversions, most of the time they have started shaving and they're not a company you should stay with. So just make sure you find a good one first of all. I found one years ago that stays very consistent and pays every 2 weeks.

I went out late at night and stuck my signs onto those big steel poles at all the major intersections.
I don't really worry about getting in any trouble for it because the domain was purchased anonymously and I'm not really destroying any property since they are just magnetic signs.

In the past couple days I've noticed a lot of new signups coming in on that affiliate link. Yesterday I had 5 paid sales from that domain and I have not used it for any other methods lately.

That's pretty much it. It's a very simple offline marketing tactic that works. I did have to invest about $130 on sign making supplies but I made that back within a couple days and now it's straight profit.

My only concern is that eventually some city worker will have all my signs taken down and thrown away. If that happens I'll just make some more using a new domain and start over.

If anyone has any questions just ask. Enjoy!

kickapooh you are genius, shame that in my city it won't work but I know that this emthod will help many people, only if they will take action, then they will earn like you.
Thank you.

Thanks for the share, i'm thinking of alternative ays i could spin this using the mix of offline to online offer.

If I were back in the UK or US, I'd be wrecking trains and buses in posters.
Just wear a visi vest and look official.

Heres a little twist to this method that would help your longevity:

Get two broom sticks (or whatever), use duct tape and attach a double sided piece to the ends. Stick your sign to the tape and use the broom sticks to give you better reach when placing your signs and improve the locations. Put your signs in more obscure and interesting places. This will also prevent someone from walking up and taking it down themselves. Just a thought

I saw a guy using a singles sign for his "homeless method" he was using on the intersection the other day. I kept thinking about the loss of conversions for the marketer because the guy stole his sign to write up his campaign to panhandle.

You're on a roll man, another nice adult share. Following a lot of your threads around the net and doing well. Keep it up :)

how much profit have you made from singles101
it seems like a good traffic generated site, dating sites these days there are so many any juice left in them
That's not my site. I signed up long ago as an affiliate to promote them because they seem to be legit, don't shave and always pay me.

Actually, im pretty sure it is legal!

i saw rob do it on rob & big. when he made is mom cry lol he said its legal advertising as long as your not defacing anything. but, could be wrong.. lol

good method! thanks, might try it when i am in LA

I think it is one of those things that it is a code violation in some cities and can get you a fine however in most areas it is never enforced.

I'm no legal expert but people put out yard-sale signs all the time and on almost any wooden telephone pole you can see where fliers have been stapled to it many times. I'm pretty sure those people are never fined or anything.

There is someone that does that in all the suburbs around me in like a 20 mile radius... and has been doing it for years. The difference is that they use URLs with the city name in them: www.CITYNAMEsingles.com

must be working great because they've been doing it forever. However, from my own experience paying attention, I've seen that they basically get taken down within two or three days MAXIMUM of being put up -- sometimes same-day.

Big tip from reading about these methods (called Bandit Signs btw) a while back:

Put your signs up on FRIDAY night. Most code enforcers are off work on the weekends and your signs will have a longer lifespan than if you put them up on a weekday.

Thanks for the tip. In the city I'm in now I don't think the code enforcers really care. I've been watching this one sign that someone had the balls to put up underneath a speed limit sign a week ago and it's still there.

It's one of those same type of signs you say are up all over your city (CITYNAMEdating.NET) Lol. This guy is brave though putting that shit under a speed limit sign. Apparently noone seems to care though

Here's a twist you guys can try with this method. Sign up for a Text Messaging AutoResponder service to send the traffic to. Just do a search on G for text message auto responder to find these services. So instead of having a web address on your sign, you can have a sign that reads something like ...

Text "I'm Single" to 5555 and meet your soulmate, or something like that.

Have the auto responder set up to send the leads to your affiliate link. Text messages have nearly a 100% open rate, much better than email. And it's so much easier to text rather than checking email. You should receive many more leads this way.

Do some research on text msg marketing .. it will cost you a little bit to start up the service. Some companies will give you a free trial. This is a very effective twist .. take action and good luck.
