Hey,
I have had this Tumblr account for about a year and right now it's at 6000 followers with just under 600 posts.

My strategy for gaining followers/notes was just following/unfollowing. With this account I have not once reblogged another accounts photo and only liked a few, it's strictly been sharing content that I created in Photoshop as well as gifs. With each of these pictures I would link back to my hosted website with adsense.

My question is, am I missing out on a big growth opportunity for my account by not reblogging and liking photos? I really want to put this account in top gear asap and want to know if im missing out by not reblogging and liking? Or maybe should I just focus on posting much more of my fresh content... or both!!??

Sorry for the rambling, but can any of you Tumblr playas steer me in the right direction!
Thanks,
Rilese

so you post a link to your website on each post?

do you get a good amount of traffic from that blog?

it seems like you're doing fine, someone on the froum told me that liking other images gets you followers as well.
he said he gets 100 followers for 4k likes, but i;m personally not going to like 4k images just for that...

Only get like 10 new visitors per day.

i got an adult blog, my liking conversion rate is 8-10%. the secret is liking pics with zero or low notes and only good ones, if you likes every spams, bots, etc you won't gain anything

I always stayed away from re blogging to much unless it's manual, because you never know what a bot may reblog. However if your doing things on the account manually then yes it can help. I mainly post quality/engaging content and follow, & like and of course fill the queue and schedule posts. Make sure to use quality tags when posting.

You can also make other tumblr accounts that drive the traffic to just your main account.

It does help to reblog and like. Don't set a bot to reblog though, do it only manually so you don't get yourself in trouble of any sorts. You're not missing out on too much, but it definitely helps.

Likes and reblogs are great, indeed, but another helpful strategy is putting tags (I don't know how the things are now, since tumblr seem to shut down the tags tracking feature)
