    I have been using phpbb for my forum needs for the last couple months. But I have had many problems with bots and other things.
    I had someone reinstall the forum for me a week ago because the bot problem was getting so outrageous and instead of just deleting every one, one by one, I started over.

    Now I am getting this error message (I changed nothing, so I dont know how this is happening)

    SQL ERROR [ mysql4 ]

    Incorrect file format 'dwt_sessions' [130]

    An sql error occurred while fetching this page. Please contact an administrator if this problem persists.

    I have been trying to fix the problem for the last 2 days with no success.
    Any suggestions on how to fix this?
    Someone told me phpbb is old and outdated and that I should get a better forum..

    Advice?

    EDIT:::
    Fixed the problem, forum is working again.
    Still though - wondering if I should be upgrading to a better forum to prevent problems in the future?
    Possibly BurningBoard or Xenforo ? Anyone have experience with these boards?

    You may want to try hitting up Fiverr for some support on this, I know there are few people on there that know the software well, if your lucky you may be able to get a quick fix for $5 :)

    As far as other forum software goes, Xenforo I hear is good, a client of mine is using it and apparently they have good spam prevention and management.

    Another is vBulletin which is what is used here from what I can tell. It's been around forever.
