Trying to understand keyword phrases

Like say if I had a title of "How to cook turkeys" and that was the keyword phrase I was focusing on. In terms of Keyword Density I know it only have to be something like 1%-2%, but does the entire phrase have to be written on the page? Or is it ok as long as the single keywords like turkey/cook/to/how are all at least on the webpage regardless of if they're scattered around or not?

It's best to use the exact phrase at least once, but you also want to mix it up with variations/synonyms throughout the page content, file names, titles, alt attributes, etc.

I see people uses keyword Phrase and I think its most easiest way to rank up your keyword on Google top. However, you may use single word as keyword- its up to you. But, I prefer keyword phrase.

As a rule, try and make the article sound as natural as possible, with forcing it. You do want the main keyword to appear in the article at least once though. So something like 'In this article I am going to show you how to cook turkeys at Christmas time'....etc would be great. After you may wish to use and include variations like 'cooking a turkey' etc. Given the nature of the article, you'll probably use the words like cook, turkey etc in different contexts so don't worry too much
