    Hello guys.

At this moment I'm trying to make my first WordPress theme. I started making all the files (.php) by myself, writing all the codes and doing all the stuff. Now the theme looks like a pre-historic web because I only have set up things like the entry titles and that shit.

So, my question is: is there any theme free of any copyright to start working on it? I mean edit it by myself changing the things that I want.

And the second question is: the "real" themes creators, do they use any basic theme so start working or they just write alllllllll the code handly?

    Thanks for reading.

They definitely don't start from scratch, usually most themes are pretty similar and only the stylesheet is changed between them to create a different look.

Unless you are creating your theme for serious money or as a hobby, I would just go with using a free theme or buying one, or possibly even torrenting a paid theme.

    First of all thanks!

I'm trying to start with a serious theme, I don't want to create one and a few days later receive some email from the original creator of the free theme that I used.

I'm downloading some themes from here: BHW - Get free 500 WordPress themes unresticred PLR, could this be useful?
