I was extremely reluctant to post this, as it's a completely original idea (at least I think it is). I'm looking for a fun and easy way to make a few extra bucks. I came up with the idea of doing live gift card raffles on a live streaming site. Essentially people would spend $x for a "spot" via PayPal gift and would be placed on a list that would be randomized live. The winner gets the card digitally delivered to their email. The problem is I know this is 100% sketchball, but I know the folks here at BHW are well-versed in sketch goodness and are willing to take risks like I am. The whole point of my little venture would be to allow folks to get something like a $25 gift card for $3. As the venture grew, it'd probably go beyond simple cards. Is this idea something that people would be interested in? I'd rather have fellow Blackhatters in on the fun first, after all. :)

sounds interesting...
i am sure there is people around the internet that would go in such a site i just don't think i would...
but some people love the all gift card idea,
in most of the CPA networks they have a gift card offer for some company and those offers always seems to be in the top 10 of the email submit or zip submit categories... so i think any new idea regarding that niche can get visitors...

So how is this different then a lottery or gambling? Is this legal?

That's the problem... I don't believe it's legal as it's basically a raffle. However, I've seen guys do the same thing with sports memorabilia. They'll hold up a football card, people will buy spots, and someone wins the card for 1/10 of what it's "worth". I've watched these guys do this for a few months now and it doesn't look like they've had any hammers drop on them. They do make it clear, though, to never put "raffle" in any sent money notes. I'm kinda past the idea though, as I think PayPal would eventually wonder why one account has so much income.
