a friend of mine owns the .name version of two up and coming communities, tru*veo.com & im*meem.com. we are not sure what to do with it. about how much will domain names like these go for in an auction? what are the possible money making benefits of owning tru*veo.name & im*meem.name?

thanks!

lol...could have used an explanation. but thanks anyway

You should probably tell your friend he should try and get rid of them.

Also the .name extension kills it. I've never seen a successful .name site.

I would think they are worthless but if you do decide to keep them I would get a one page site up there quick that uses the name in a way that is totally unrelated to the real sites.. like a picture of your Gerbil named meem or something, otherwise they will take them if they want them. A good friend of mine used to buy domains for films with a number after it, then try to sell them to the movie company banking on a sequel, jurassicpark4.com ended that bright idea.

Try to use your mind! These 2 communities will have .com domains for sure. Why don't you make something usefull if you still have this domains for at least one year. Something like "Community x Special Events" or something like that. Ideas are there, you just have to find a profitable one. Or you can keep the domains as they are for the rest of the year and let them expire...what is the purpose of that?

Lesson 1. It doesn't matter what domain name or domain extension you have, once you have it try to monetize it!

Don't give the solution is at hand. Cheers mate!
