Ok, I'm baffled. I've installed Piwik on 2 of my other sites successfully.

Now I start up this new site of mine, and I upload the Piwik RAR file to my public_html directory (with all my Wordpress files) and extract it, but when I try to go to mydomain.com/piwik/ (which is where it should be, and where it was when I installed it on my other two sites) I end up on my Wordpress theme's 404 page, as if I had typed a URL with a non-existent permalink.

The Piwik folder is extracted just fine; I can see it right there in my file manager, and everything is in there. Permissions were set to 0755 but I set them to 0777 just to see if that made a difference (it didn't)

Anyone have any ideas what is going on, and why I can see the folder right there in my directory, but it's like it doesn't exist when I try to type in the URL (which would launch an app to complete the installation) Until I can get to this folder in my web browser, I can't install Piwik.

    Thanks!

Were your other two sites wordpress sites? I've read that piwik gets temperamental if you try to install it regularly on a wordpress site. There's actually a plugin for it.

    Hopefully that helps.
