Hey Guys,

I'm wondering if anyone would be willing to help me on Skype?

I've been using Scrapebox and Xenu together to find good websites for PBN's, I'm just not having a great amount of success. I've been doing it non-stop for approximately two weeks and I've only found 2-3 domains with over 15TF and 15DA.

Thanks, as always. Love this community.

I don't know why but whenever i try xenu it gives me false results. 9/10 no such hosts are active websites. Try using screaming frog, there was a thread in here giving a licensed copy until march or sth.It is better than xenu but different. You can't import multiple urls like in xenu, so you crawl one website a time. I find lots of domains between 15-20 DA and 15+ TF(URL). But, almost everything over 20DA that is available, is either spammy or has been used as a pbn in the past.

Yeah, I find a lot of over 20DA, but also ruined.

Yes, after you get "No Such Host" you need to double check if they are active. What I suggest you do is paste those into Name.com's or Namecheap.coms bulk checker. That will eliminate the false actives, and also check if the domains are available.

If you have scrapebox there is a Bulk Domain Checker though.

Hey, this is about me! not you! ;) Just kidding.

Yes i know that. But since finding great org net com domains is somewhat impossible, for me at least, i hunt other foreign tlds like com.au etc, so i hand check them on domaintools. That's why i hate the false "no such host" of xenu.

Bro i'm doing it by hand using only ahrefs.. i don't care much about the metrics i go for the authority links. I have already found like 30 decent ones so its possible if you take your time and know where to look.

Yes but the metrics are a good indication. A 8DA domain means no more than one quality link. So you can use metrics just to minimize your manual work.

How are you selecting the seed sites that you crawl? This is the key to getting the most from crawling/scraping for domains.

That is, of course, if Moz even pick up all the links to a domain which is often not the case. You might miss out on some decent domains by filtering too strictly on metrics.

Key is in the footprints. You can have the best tools out there but if you are mining for domains in the same place as the guy next to you - your chances are pretty low.

Try using different set of footprints, don't do the mainstream stuff.

What is your advise on that? Sure metrics is not everything. But I can only assess the backlinks that I see. If I see very little domains linking to site I assume that is not worth it. Might be wrong assumption but what else would I do?

You are totally correct that if there are no backlinks pointing to a domain then it is virtually worthless. What I am saying is that Moz seems to have the smallest database of links and I wouldn't be putting all my trust into their metrics when they might not even factor in backlinks that do exist. Ahrefs seem to show the most backlinks in my experience although looking through the Majestic historic index is also an option (I don't trust their fresh one so much). If you look at all three and still see no backlinks then you can conclude that none exist (at least no good ones).

I usually select sites with high TF / DA. Usually bigger sites, but I've tried selecting sites definitely wouldn't be crawled often, directories, old HTML style sites etc... If you have time, I'd love to pick your brain on Skype.
