Hi folks.

I was hoping someone could help me with this.

I have a soft play centre client who I am doing seo for.

Now there is 1 negative tripadvisor review which was posted 5 years ago and seems to rank highly in the serps related to my client.

It’s driving my customer crazy as he’s otherwise got a very good reputation and this review must be affecting his prospective customers buying decisions.

I don’t see any backlinks or citations to the negative review in question. The only thing I can think of is that the review is a bit longer than the others and must be seen by google as providing search relevant content to rank highly in the serps.

Now to the question.

How do I push it down the serps?

I greatly appreciate all helpful responses in advance.

Negative reviews tend to have higher CTR rate. Also, age of the review plays a huge role as well.

I had this same issue and negative SEO will not work, especially on TripAdvisor.. You're going to have to build up a bunch of other pages and have them outrank this one so it's off the first page, where most searchers will drop off. Make profile pages on EVERY site that allows it.. obviously social media like FB and twitter but also sites like Indeed are good to have and can rank somewhat easily.

It's really quite difficult to push that down because of its age. The best thing you can do is to push your other pages or create new pages that can possibly outrank it.

thanks for the replies.

Normally, people look for negative comments for a product/service more often than read positive comments. This gives them the sense of expectancy towards the experience they're looking to pay for.
