So was just wondering what peoples thoughts are about using Native ads to drive traffic to the landing page/Blog site.
Has anyone found Native any good? Is it worth trying? I hear a lot of hype about it.
Just don't want a shit load of BOTs marching towards my site.

Thanks all

You need more money to test it compared to other channels. But it can be profitable yes.

Could I not use adplexy to spy on others campaigns and repeat???

Yes. A lot of people take this route. There are tools like Landerlab that let you rip other people's pre-sell landing pages very quickly. With that said, I wouldn't necessarily recommend just straight ripping off other people's ads and landing pages.

I run all of the advertising for a couple of e-commerce websites and we are dipping our toes into native ads. Our monthly budget across stores is $200,000 and we are spending about $5K on native even though our product is high ticket (aka not as mass appeal as most native offers should be). Here are a couple of my observations so far:

  • As we all know, targeting isn't great. Even predictive lists offered by Taboola just don't perform all that well. The CPCs are low so sometimes, if you have a great ad with a great lander, it's worth going top of funnel for e-commerce even if your product isn't necessarily mass appeal.
  • Remarketing on native works great. The products I'm promoting do particularly well if I use native to communicate social proof and establish credibility.
  • I have been experimenting with hashed email lists via lists generated with a tool called WealthEngine and I see early promise. I've never heard of another marketer talk about this kind of marketing via native but I think it's worth exploring.
Not that I'm familiar with how native works, I'm going to try to run some affiliate offers with more native appropriate offers.

Native is king for content sites trying to drive traffic to their websites to gain new users and to make money off of ads (arbitrage) I have done all types of traffic arbs for years and when you buy native u only deal with the big 4 companies which all have built in high antifraud protection that prevent bots..If they are not of the big 4 (Outbrain, Taboola, Yahoo, Rev Content) you rolL the dice and need fraud protection on your site. Also native traffic is expensive for tier 1 one traffic which is why everyone does pagination style post when they promote through native to achieve ROI.
