Ok here's another idea then... Tweak your Title and Description (meta). I crush competitors and rake in the majority of search page impressions (WMT tells you your search page CTR) despite being rank 4. I know it's because of my meta description and title. Everybody else on the SERPs uses the defaults.
You can snap up visitors as though you were #1.

I agree, build more links. Make it even better than before. The better and the more the links, the more you would stay on top.

u have to do hard work for that. do more backlinks and do more link buildings. make a unique traffic. u will be on #1

Definitely agree with this. Links with better power would be those high quality links that would keep your website on top.

Focus on your on-page optimization, reduce bounce rate, build more quality backlinks, diversify your link profile by building Web 2.0s and blog commenting to make your exact match anchor more powerful. Do guest blogging and try to get some natural links as well.
