Hi all. Some people know about this. Many do not. One of the frustrating things about PayPal are the fees you have to pay when sending/receiving money.

There is a simple trick that allows you to send as much money as you want for a $1 fee. All you have to do is use the Mass Pay option under "send money." To do this you only need to create a .txt file with the transaction details. It shows you how to do this in the mass pay section.

So thats it. Always use it to send money and tell people who are sending you money to use Mass Pay :)

I've never heard about it, but just the thought that a giant such as paypal has a big loophole as this makes me happy.

I haven't tried it yet. Does it really work if you're sending to ONE recipient only?
 
This is not a loophole :lmao: nor a trick. To be able to do this you need to have a premier or business paypal account. The money you send via Mass Pay CANNOT be recovered in anyway, so watch out who you send your money to via Mass Pay.

I'm not sure about the US but in the UK you have the option to send money as a personal gift and this doesn't charge any fee's.
 
Yep I've been doing this on large payments for awhile, pretty damn useful.
 
this is a damn useful tips... thanks... that's what i hate about paypal... the transaction fees... with this.. it shld be good...
 
I also used this to send 1 payment. before I got a bank account here is the actual steps to create the mass paypemt file.

Mass Payment

According to PayPal's mass pay instructions, you are supposed to create
an Excel file with the payment information and save the file as text file 
with tab separated values. 
I believe there is a much easier way to do it:

I. Open up notepad (or any text/ascii editor)

II. Type the following information, separated by tabs (use tab key, not 
spaces).

An example of a payment text file:

[email protected] 999 USD

This textfile will, when uploaded to PayPal, process a payment of $999
US Dollars to the PayPal address [email protected]

Save the textfile as anything you'd like, just try to remember where you 
saved 
it for later.

III. Log in to your PayPal account the usual way, but instead of sending a 
payment the regular way, look for the small link on the bottom of your screen
that says "Mass Pay". Found it? Good, now click it.

IV. You are now one step away from doing a mass payment. Browse to find the 
text file you just created in notepad and upload it to PayPal as directed. 
Type in the e-mail address you want the receipt to be sent to and perform 
the payment by clicking the button.

Voila! The PayPal recipient has now received his/hers payment and it only 
cost you $1 in fees, instead of 4% !

Good luck with mass pay payments, it has saved me a couple of bucks as some 
deals involve adding the 4% fee to the final sales price.

yes it works cost me a 1.00 to send 450.00 to another paypal account
 
Paypal charges me for receiving, not for sending money.
 
It cost 1.00 to send and 0.00 to receive if you use mass pay to transfer money to another paypal account

I have not seen any charge while sending money to other people. It only costs to receive money.
 
I have 2 paypal accounts and it only cost me a 1.00 to send to the other and the one I am sending to does not get charged to receive any funds

No one said there was a charge for sending money

This is if you have 2 paypal accounts and want to transfer money between the 2 paypal accounts

Which would you rather pay 1.00 to send to another account or pay the 4% fee to receive the money when you use mass pay there is only 1 charge the 1.00 and you do not get charged for receiving any money for the account you are sending to...
 
Yeh. I have been doing this for a year now. When I receive a payment I ask the buyer to use mass pay using the file I send him and give him a $2 discount. LOL. Go save money now.
