Tribe Question

I hope I am not sounding silly here, and I hope I am not breaking any rules.

Can someone please explain to me how exactly an internet tribe works? I got several emails this week to buy into one to make huge money this week, lol. I know it is going to take me 3 to 6 months to see some tangible results but this tribe thing is really interesting me. G00gle is useless these days for valid information, any info or advice would be helpful.
