Trial By Thread Is A No No On BHW

So a thread is opened about a possible scammer who subject to verification should be Shit Listed.

But no, we have open court trial thread by mob rule with no judge and/or jury...

The thread goes "Pear Shaped" then we have the barroom barristers jumping all over the thread speculating is it "Member A" and/or "Member B" et al.

WTF this is not what BHW is all about...

Open the appropriate thread if it is a SHIT LIST (and wait for Mod decision) or do not open a thread at all!

FFS if in doubt about opening a SHIT LIST thread ask a Mod...

Please think and never lynch someone!

(I did not quote the thread as the OP has a valid gripe, what is wrong is that the thread has spiraled out of control thanks to all the posters - myself included - that is the problem)

On a more serious note : That thread which you refer to talking about a possible scammer is not necessary at all. If you don't care about $50, then forget it. If you do then why hesitate to open a SL? You shouldn't be on top of the fence.

if the person accusing hasn't named the accused yet
respected members shouldn't be trying to name names
and getting it wrong, that can harm an innocent person

you dont toss a brick at the wrong window
then apologize for breaking the wrong window

Are you reffering to skin color? If yes, all races should be considered equal.If chinese/caucasian would be hanged there you would just ignore it.

there is an old saying here..
"He who sits on the fence will get shot by both sides".
and this is true here as well, because the OP should really have either have sent a PM to the Mods,
or done nothing, not opening a "POSSIBLE" advice thread, wehn the rules are clear what ot do.

Besides, the amount of money is partially irrelavant,
because anyone who scams in small things, can often scam in larger things.

If it is someone in BST then it must be shown and proven for ALL MEMBERS to see,
and then decide afterwards whether we wish to do business with them again or not.

The guy that opened the discussion was only looking for an opinion, although based on what he had to say and the fact that he was being goaded into opening a shitlist by the seller.......well I dont know what was holding him back.

What made some members decide it was acceptable to play shitlist bingo and start spewing out names is beyond me. I believe back2form and linksmaster are due apologies.

What else do you expect. That was a very bad move by the OP (other thread) but that doesn't make my behaviour either acceptable. It's been said thousand times, either list the person, consult a mod or keep shut, it's happened multiple times before and mayhems were started because of such act.
 
Too many immature people these days - BHW is becoming less business orientated by the day and more entertainment orientated - hence people jumping on threads with their 2 cents all the time when they are not involved.

BHW is great that we have a community that cares about people getting ripped off - but quite a few people don't understand how to conduct themselves in public, hence threads turn into a shit storm quite easily...
