Trend or niche?

Hello , I have question in my head, which is better selling trend products or niche products? Main problem here is my goal. I need to sell 2500 products for ~100$ in 5months. What is your opinions and reason?

Selling trending product gives huge sales if you can spend on ads,niche products are best if you can spend your time with the SEO and build a great sells funnel to drive long lasting leads.
