Travel and make money?

Hey guys!
I got an idea to fulfill my lifetime wish, seeing the world and to make money to sponsor my wish.
So I was thinking of making an online blog, where I put videos,photos and impressions of the places I visit and stuff related to my journey.
About monetization I'm not sure yet, but I think Amazon/Adsense would work.

What do you guys think? Would it work?
Any suggestions and comments are welcomed.

It might, but there are thousands already doing that.
 
Easier to apply to become a travel blogger for an existing travel website if you don't have experience in SEO and IM at hand which to utilize in making your blog stick out of the stream of similar sites.
 
Well I'm a member of BHW, so yeah I will use the knowledge and services I find here to boost my ranks and earnings.
Although this is just an idea, I think I will start looking for the things I need to this.

You won't be fulfilling this lifetime wish any time in the near future if you start learning now, if you want to do it faster, I honestly suggest you multitask. Blog about your travels on established blogs who pay you to do it, and use that money to fulfill your wish, while learning the whats and hows of IM. Also, this gives you authority as a blogger, with proof of experience in the travel blogging niche, which means that people start recognizing you, and you get to link from your author bio on bigger sites to yours.

Of course, if you won't be accepted to write for any travel blog, go for your own straight away, or if you're not in a rush to do it within the next few months at least.
 
Yes, I think you're right. Well I make a passive income of 400$(+,-) and thought of learning more about building sites and ranking them so I can add some more passive income, thus helping with what may be my future blog. Do you know any travel website that are looking for writers?

I think you are going to find this to be a very very expensive hobby to pursue and unless your making a lot of money already online, this wont be a feasable journey.
 
There's a guy named Jubril Agoro (he's who CEOSam wishes he was) who travels and blogs/vlogs about it. He's an Internet marketer (he implied in one video that he focuses on PPC advertising on Google Adwords) and he also sells his own products on his websites. It seems to be working out quite well for him, so I'm sure that you could find some success in the same niche.
 
Very difficult market imho. There are so many people sharing their vacation photos and experiences for free, I don't see how any travel blog will pay writers - other than sharing cents and pennies earned with adsense.

As for running your own travel blog, I guess you can make a couple of hundred bucks per month, but you will need to have exceptional talent as a captivating writer or photographer.
