That's kinda sick, but what's beef? why the settlement. From what I read it looks like it's just offering a free credit score/monitoring service. Kind of a sweet deal from them, bet they retain at least a small % of the freebie accounts and turn them into paying customers.

i guess you totally missed the part about.... "According to the settlement, this has a retail value of $59.75. If you select this service, you'll also be able to apply for a cash payment from the settlement fund."

That did not say it would be a $59.75 dollar cash payment though. I understand what your getting at, but it does not specify what the cash payment would be. Was just wondering if it's like "Pick overpriced subscription or $10 cash", or if they are giving the retail value in cash as well. No need to get nitty vm.
