I translated an article from one language to another and then according to some article uniqueness checkers I still got 100% unique content. I translated articles to similar languages (for ex. english to chineese is not a good choice) and I was happily surprised, coz it still made sense and I just need to do only a bit of correction.I tried to paste chunks of translated content to Google and no results were found.So it seems its enough. But I am not sure if intelligent big G can nowadays detect it or not so I rather did not use Google translator ( Bing instead), added a little bit of my own content here and there, change paragraphs, images, videos etc. What are your opinions on it ? thanks

It will be problem if you use translated articles in your money site. I tried this before time and the result was not good - serp down. But if i use translated content for tier 2 or 3 - it's good.
But if you want to be 100% sure that big G will not detect you - just use unique content in your main site and spun/rewrited for your tier's sites.

If you want content uniqueness I see no problems with it. I think you're right to avoid Google Translate, but aside from that there doesn't seem to be anything that would be a bar to uniqueness. After all, what the algorithm is set to search for is bare sequences of letters and words in order. "Je voudrais un stylo" may mean exactly the same thing as "I want a pen", but from a uniqueness point of view it is completely different.

Yes I agree with this concept. Your money sites should always have totally 100% original content just to be super safe.
