Translating Articles: Is It a Good Idea?

It is safe to do it when done right. Of course in order to produce readable content you have to know both languages, because just relying on translators most of times will produce unreadable crap. Do it and rephrase it a bit. The trick with the 3 translations sounds good too.
PS. Like said before, don't use articles from monster authority websites.

How about I translate articles and leave a link to the source.
Surprisingly, I saw a few sites doing it, translating English articles into my language and they are ranked for a lot of keywords. Can anyone explain?

Curious about this.. English is not my first language but I do know it very well. The idea of translating articles from my own mother tongue into English (switch it up a little here and there) sounds very appealing and timesaving

You don't really have to know both languages if the language your translating into is one you know, you can manually edit it so that it becomes readable as well as putting in long tail keywords you want to target.

I have been doing it with no problems. Just like some people say, get content from small well written blogs and translate, it doesn't matter where. Just make sure you arrange your keywords and LSI in the article. I usually go to Copyscape and check for duplicates. Always check, 30 percent of the time there are already translate, especially if it's a hot niche.
