I grabbed a couple of domains from GoDaddy when they had the promo.
They are all under the same account (different promo period) and now, I want to move them all to either namecheap or internet.bs
since they offer free whois guard etc.

Most domains are around 1-2 months ago, I am wondering if they are eligble for transfer at this point?

Also, most of them still have 10 months+ before expire. Once its transferred, do I still get 10months?
Or does it start fresh again (meaning I have to pay again immediately as renewal)?

Please advise. Thanks

You can transfer domains after 60days of registration, and the remain period is included in the new registrar.
Example:
You brought "specialdomain.com" on godaddy, after 60days you transfer it to internetbs. After the transfer you have your domain renewed for 1 year + the other 10 months lefts

Thanks
Oh i see, so I will to pay immediately again AFTER the transfer?
Can I not renew YET but just to have it transferred?

You have to pay when you transfer a domain, but it's for the extra year.

Oh i see.
Stupid me, I always thought it is 'free' transfer, since they want to take more customer in for later years anyways.
Thx

I think the registrar you're transfering to has to pay the original registrar or ICANN. The only way to transfer a domain for free is by "pushing" it, but that's only possible for one account to another's registered at the same registrar, and not all registrars support that (the bigger ones do).
