Transfer from domain1.com to domain2.com

Hello,

How much is long process transfer e.g. domain1.com to domain2.com i want transfer domain and all links indexed on google how much is this long on end ?

Depending on how many pages you have, and how quickly Google crawls your site, it could take months.

When setting up redirects make sure you use 301s, and complete the change of address form in Google Webmaster Tools, that should speed up the process.

I don't think months, that would be if you had thousands of pages. For, say 20 pages it could take a few weeks.

If you submit new sitemap to webmaster tools and submit it to other submitters, then crawling will be quick. You can use indexing services to quickly index the pages.

Why do you want to change the domain?

Agree with the previous commentators - the procedure won't take long (unless you have a website with thousands of pages).

To speed up the procedure of domain transfer you can:

- set 301redirects from your old domain to your new one;
- submit your your old sitemap to Google and Bing (if you already have one, skip this step). That will make the search engines crawl your old site URLs, see that they have 301 redirects and change their index accordingly;
- fill out the 'Change of Address' form in GWT.
- create a new sitemap and submit it to the above mentioned search engines. This will tell them about any new URLs that were not present on the old domain);
- wait until Google Webmaster Tools updates and fixes any errors. That will be indicated in the Diagnostics section.

That's it.

Then you will need to wait a little and monitor search engine results to make sure new domain is getting properly indexed.

It depends on many things, just be patient and let it happen the natural way.

I did this recently with 13 very large websites... once it is all deployed and googlebot starts crawling the new site it will update the index by about 1000 entries per day per domain. It can take weeks to get this ball rolling and if you F anything up like forgetting canonicals or messing up redirects you can dig yourself into a hole that takes months to climb out of.

Make damn sure all your old urls have 301s to the new and canonical tags on old and new pages to the new URLs. Monitor webmaster tools for 404 and 500 crawl errors... these are usually an indication of breakage between the old and new sites... you have to add both the old and new sites in GWT. Some issues will appear for one but not the other.

Backlinks to all the pages that turn into error 404 or 500 do not help overall pagerank... you must fix broken URL to get the PR back for the backlinks.

For the love of stuff I hope the domain change is worth it because using 301 redirects is the same as giving up 30% of your original page rank as it counts as an additional layer of linking.

The transfer is easy to do but the time entirely depends on the amount of content and pages that you have in your domain. The time period can vary from a few weeks to months too. Use 301's for the process and complete the change of address in Google Webmaster tools.

I second this. Do it via wenmasters,,,I thought it would take half a year but only took a couple of weeks. But remember, this process is case by case.
