User profile is here trann123

User contacted me claiming to be able to supply likes from Philippines in response to a WTB ad.

User asked for payment in the following way;

Hi, If you'd like to place an order, Send the payment to xxx. Send it as a personal payment and PM me here with your paypal email to verify your payment. Don't attach any note on the payment as this will nullify the order and the payment will be refunded to your account.

After I paid, user immediately said;

Hi, I have made a mistake, I've copy pasted the wrong email. That was the email of my old client, try to file a dispute on the payment to get it back. The email was supposed to be xxx

Please ban this user as a scammer.

trann123 is the accused and has been notified he has 48 hours to respond to this thread.

hobbymash and anyone else reading this thread - PLEASE never send a payment for a product/service as a Gift to someone you do not know! You cannot dispute a gift.

Also, these 'backdoor' Skype and PM deals are far less reliable than our BHW BSTs.

PS. REMINDER Shit list rule #4:
If you are not directly related to the situation, or are not offering information directly related to the situation: do not post in the thread.

I admit my mistake that I mistakenly copied an email of a client instead of my email... I told him to file a dispute since I no longer have hold on this client. I am truly sorry on this matter. I already emailed the person he mistakenly sent the money, and I am now waiting for his reply.

I did not scam him, it was an honest mistake and I admit my mistake. I did not get any benefit from this, and it was just a small amount of money, why would I even bother scam him with my good reputation on other clients.

He paid the account you asked him to. You owe him your service. IF he gets the refund, THEN he can pay you - but if not, then it's your loss, not his.

PS. If it wasn't your intention to scam him, why the requirement to send it as a gift with no note in the payment?

He will get the refund on the dispute. I already contacted the client as I said.

Personal Payment because I won't be able to withdraw the payment since paypal has this 21 day protocol. No note because paypal doesn't allow transactions involving blackhat methods.

As a sign of good faith, provide the service you agreed to. It's very hard to believe that you could not realize that you would send him an email address and not realize it's not YOUR paypal address.

So, provide your service and when (IF) he gets the refund, he will pay you. He wouldn't be dumb enough to post this, get the refund and then not pay you afterwards IF he actually does get it.

I have filed a dispute with paypal but so far no response, this would be easier if the recipient just returned the money, but so far no dice, also trann123 has blocked me on skype, so i cannot contact him anymore.

As OldSalt said, it is quite unbelievable that one could skype a wrong payment email address, especially since it is part of a long rambling message about not attaching notes.

From trann123's own words in this thread, he has convicted himself of being a scammer. He said "No note because paypal doesn't allow transactions involving blackhat methods." The payment was for acquiring facebook likes by legitimate promotional means, he even skyped my the facebook fanpages where he was going to promote the site to acquire likes. Please show me any TOS on paypal that does not allow this type of transaction, it does not exist. The excuses just don't add up.

I've learnt my lesson not to trust these deals, and will take more precaution in the future.

@trann123,

I see you visiting the Freelancer and WTB and PMing so I'm going to make this nice and simple.

You have 48 hours to provide your service to hobbymash or you will be temp banned until he receives his refund or your service.

The clock is ticking...

@hobbymash - after 48 hours I'll need you to verify whether you have or have not received the service.

Thank you,
OS

trann123 has been temp banned for 2 weeks. If he provides his service or if hobbymash receives a refund from you or the 'client' he will be unbanned.

If hobbymast loses the PP dispute, trann123 will have 48 hours after it's posted to provide a full refund or his service - or the ban will become permanent.

OS

Paypal did not refund the payment and I have not heard anything from trann123
