Hello BHW Members, I hope you are doing well

First of all sorry for my English,

5 Months ago I've started my first blog after that I read many posts on BHW forum and watched many youtube videos, I've decided to go with a niche where I have some knowledge about and I picked my keywords from Ahrefs, I've always chosen " best of " keywords that had difficulty less than 10 with a search volume between 1k to 3k.

According to the Yoast plugin, all my blog posts are SEO optimized (Green Color), I have around 45 blog posts with an average of 1500 words for each post, I do have around 4 informative posts and all others are "best of" articles.

According to google page speed, I've scored 62 on mobile, and 91 on Desktop, I didn't build any links yet and for now, I can't afford it sadly, and that's the reason why I went for low competition keywords because most if not all my competitors don't have links or have 1 or 2 maximum.

My question is, I'm not getting any organic traffic at all, and I wanted to know if i'm being really impatient and the articles need more time to generate traffics, or I'm doing something wrong.

I wish you guys can give me some advice that can help me improve my website, and I wish you a nice and beautiful day/evening

You have said sorry for my English, which made me ask this question "have you written yourself those blog posts on your site?"

What about traffic from social platforms? Is your post getting any popularity in the social media platform?

You choose the keywords perfectly. But did you implement those keywords perfectly in page title, meta tags, content?

Try to use some videos on your page. You are posting 2 posts per week that have to increase.

Your competitors might be used some hidden PBN backlinks. You can not buy backlinks due to budget, but you can create the use of a few web 2.0 and free guest posts options in your niche.

Domain age will play important role in this kind of low competition keyword?

Google might not like that 62 for page speed on mobile.

What are your loading times on Mobile and Desktop? (maybe look into Autoptimise if using WP, should help a bit - free too)

It could be something there. Shouldn't be that much of a deciding factor unless it's very bad.

If your site is only 5 months old, I'd give it a bit longer unless you can start building links.

Have you checked your ranks for the pages, are there any on the first page?

Yoast is not the end-all for SEO, its easy to get it to show all greens and have the page/post, not rank at all.

(In my opinion, there are way better SEO plugins that are free than Yoast and less bloated - Rank Math and The SEO Framework are pretty good)

The content needs to be well-written Google likes it when you bring new ideas/add new ideas to the mix.

How is your keyword rank? If you had page rank in position 20 - 50 for some keyword, than it's normal, add some backlink to push those page up to get traffic. But if there is not any single page in those position, than something must be wrong with your on-page seo. Try to optimize your internal linking and page structure.

So, for the articles, I've bought most of them and I've written like 5 articles I think, but even if English isn't my native language i think those articles are easily readable
About web2.0 i have no idea how it works, so if you have any tutorial please feel welcome to share it
About videos, can I use videos from youtube and give the credit to their owners, or I have to create them by my self?
My Domain age is like 6 months old only

From what I saw my website isn't that bad in terms of speed

About my page rank, I do have one or two articles on the bottom of the first page of Google, few articles on the second page, and rest is between 20-50

All my traffics now is from social media ( Facebook exactly ) and I'm getting around 20-40 a day

Yeah, almost all the videos that I've watched said that backlinks are very important factor in order to rank on Google, I've bought one package backlinks recently but this all what I could afford

I have gone through your issues and put forth some of the suggestions that might help you fix the problems and rank on the SERP.

1. Plagiarised content will never help you to rank. Remove all the posts that contain even a single percentage of plagiarism or rewrite them and make it 100% Unique. You can check for plagiarism in Copyscape.

2. When you are optimizing the post, make sure you don't do keyword stuffing. According to the sources, the optimal keyword density for each post should be 1-2%.

3. You can also build free backlinks for a start. Publish your content on 'Medium' and link it back to your site, even start answering people's queries on the well-known question-answer portal 'Quora,' while writing you the answers you can also place a link in it.

4. Go to the AHREFS backlink checker and put the link of your competitor. You will get a list of websites from where your he is getting the backlink, and you can also try to get the link from those sites. Make sure to get backlinks only from authentic websites.

5. Increase your page speed. It is considered as a crucial ranking factor. Optimize and compress all the images you use.

Practice these things, slowly and gradually; you will see the results.

Also, many people post often ways to generate free backlinks from high DA websites or do-follow backlinks, what do you think about these websites if they irrelevant to my content, should I build backlinks from, or I should ignore them?

You need to invest in links when you feel like you're done with content. Do you write them on your own?

Thank you very much for your answer
what does it mean keyword stuffing?

After opting for a keyword when people start writing on it, they usually keep inserting that specific keyword several times throughout the post; this is called keyword stuffing. People do this to rank in the search engine, but due to Google's algorithm update it does not work anymore.

Umm, silly question, but if you're not getting any organic traffic at all, is it indexed?

Do you have a noindex tag or block in Robots.txt?

Do you have Google Search Console set up?

  • Are you getting impressions?
  • Are there any messages in there to do with being penalised?
  • What external links are showing in there, are they good quality?

The KW metrics you used to search for prospective focus terms + Yoast green doesn’t automatically equal page one rankings.

Go check what positions those keywords are hitting. If you’re not getting traffic, you’re not ranking well. If you’re not ranking well, you probably picked the wrong keywords or just don’t have the right elements in place to rank.

Page speed alone won’t push you two pages up or down. If you are certain that those keys are good enough to rank with content only, run a TF/IDF check and fix your content. However, given the fact that they’re affiliate keywords - most likely you didn’t build your links right (internal and inbound).
