Traffic Travid Question about proxies

    hi all

    i use traffictravis to track my rankings. i have a question.

    if i use say german proxies, and check my rankings, will tt show ranking of google germany or US (even if Google - United States is chose)?

    It will give you different results to searching with a US proxy. As it thinks you are from Germany Google still personalizes your results even if you are searching on Google.com US. The best way is to use proxies from the US to get the best most accurate results.

    Yep, TT is totally inaccurate as it doesn't use gl=us (to get local result, so a proxy is required) and they refuse to change it because gl=us causes problems for their customers, apparently!! That really makes no sense for when searching US results (how can it be a problem). It's potentially a good piece of software, but too many bugs (doesn't work with VPNs, doesn't find anchor text, as well as the poor job of rank tracking). All I can conclude is they are doing a bad job at URL construction for the query, something as simple and stupid as changing the domain extension rather than using gl=country code.

    Hey guys, is it really unnecessary to use proxies with TT to check the rankings?
