Traffic Technique

Here's a traffic technique that I thought I'd pass along. It's a bit more complicated to execute, but the theory is relatively simple.

This technique works very well on "information" type sites. I've used it on a blog and it doubled my visitors within 2 weeks. This technique is based on the notion that "free tools" make your site valuable to both users and search engines.

Step 1.

Let's say you have a mortgage related website. What you want to do is offer some form of free program for them to use. For the example, for a mortgage related website, you could offer a mortgage calculator.

Step 2.

You can either create a script yourself, go to rentacoder.com and hire someone to create the php for you, or you can go to hotscripts.com and get a free one - depending on your needs.

Step 3.

Once you place the free program on your site, download PadGen and create a PAD file for your script. PADGen will then submit a file (that will link back to your site) to about 70 shareware type sites. I'm not sure, but there may be a paid upgrade of PADGen that will submit to over 800 sites.

You'll not only get visitors from these sites, but will get backlinks from higher PR sites. These shareware sites are considered "authority" sites by Google and other SE's, and typically have very high PR themselves.

Do this a few times with a few different types of scripts that relate to your niche, and you'll soon be ranking extremely high in the SERPs.

Most probably. I can't remember where I came across this technique but I learned it last year sometime.

hmmm.. my question is how would people find this shareware unless it's a branded software? i mean all the shareware site are probably run by their search engine, and if nobody is finding what u created, it won't go viral. wad do u think?

If you think about it, the usability of the script is almost a non-issue. It could be complete crap. It works great for back links to your spammy sites. There is actually a post on it at bluehatseo.com

a very similar techniques was addressed in the "confessions of a lazy marketer" e-book. the technique seems like it would work...still haven't tested it yet.
