Traffic spikes from link posts to my Facebook page are bringing my site down. What is the best web hosting and plugins to use so this doesn’t happen when posts do good on Facebook. My site keeps going down when I post and I don’t know how to fix it. Please help

Depends on how much traffic you are getting,
Get your self a dedicated server from respectful company. and use ngnix .. that's what im doing for daily 150,000 hit on my website, and spikes 1k to 5k realtime visitors.

i know the hassle, try linode or hostdime, and as emptyzero said, take use of nginx
