Traffic Question......

I've been studying IM techniques for quite some time now, but simply don't understand a few concepts, of which this is the first:

Lately, I've made about 20 autoblogs that have nice designs/layouts, all the most useful plugins for SEO, pinging, etc., and thoroughly investigate the best keyword phrases for each niche.

Because I only choose keywords based on SERPs that don't have high authority/PR as well as having poor SEO/backlinks, I've been able to rank in the 1st positions of Google results for searches that supposedly generate from 5k - 60k searches per month.

I usually get into the very first position after only 2 or 3 days and stay there for a couple weeks if I don't do anything, although I typically submit each blog to RSS directories and write articles, etc.

The problem I'm having after all this is that I only ever get about 10-25 uniques a day at most on ANY site and I just can't understand how having and keeping a #1 position in Google for multiple niche blogs doesn't even scratch the surface of traffic I should be getting according to Google's Keyword Tool.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

My advice to you since you've learned the basics is to move into some keywords that are a bit more competitive. Internet Marketing is like being a doctor, you always need to be learning and improving, it's a practice.

Well, that's the thing...I researched each keyword and Google's Keyword Tool showed that I should be getting tens of thousands of visitors per month, so those should be great traffic generators if I have #1-3 spots in Google, yet I get hardly anything-it just doesn't make sense.

Well, that's the thing... Google's keyword tool is not always accurate, and there's no way to know how many searches out of the total number are due to marketers doing research and/or checking their rankings. When you were using that keyword tool, did you select "Broad", "Phrase" or "Exact" match?

One thing you can do is take the keywords that you get in the Google keyword tool and plug them into the Traffic Estimator tool. Do it for both the broad and exact match keywords. This will give you an idea of how much traffic is available. This tool is meant for estimating clicks, but the point here is that you may find that some of your keywords will get low click estimates. If that's the case, then there probably won't be many clicks on your links in the organic results, either. If, however, you see an estimated 50+ clicks/day (for positions 1-3), then that's a sign that there's good traffic for those keywords.

To answer your question, I check out both broad and exact match and all of my chosen keywords/phrases get thousands of searches in both types of searches, but when I plugged them into the tool you provided, none of them had more than 10 clicks, so I suppose keyword research was a tad more involved than I had thought lol

To start of with it all sounds so simple. The fact is, it's not really possible to get flawless information on how profitable a niche will be before you see for yourself.

There is always a chance that a niche that looks good on adwords / traffic estimator will fail completely.

On the flip side, however, there is always a chance that stuff that doesnt even have enough data to register on adwords will generate sales. Several of these make money for me.

I would advise mass diversification. Just keep going, you'll get there. It still beats 9-5.

True, I'm just in that phase where I make some money online, but am frustrated over purchasing what I think are great keyword-infused domain names, taking the time to set up everything and not get the kind of results I'm hoping for (which aren't get rich quick, rather several good clicks/day).

But, this is my experimentation with autoblogs...I've made several hundred $$$ with CB, but that was over several months lol. I still have yet to figure out exactly how to go about transforming my ideas into fairly repeatable money generating methods online.

To be honest, I know that my biggest hurdle has been and still is trying to figure out good ways of generating quality traffic, whether it be for my autoblogs, YouTube videos, landing pages, etc.

I use the general methods everyone else does with articles, blog comments, directory submissions, and the like, but have never had anything get more than 25 or so unique's a day.
