Hello all,
I have been working with a client for about four months now, and I have been building relevant backlinks to his site, but his traffic is not increasing at all. I have the site in Google, and I have many other items in place, but he is sitting at 5-10 uniques a day. I do not want to build bad traffic for him, I am attempting to build him clean traffic and links, but nothing is seeming to stick. I had him up to about 100-300 UV's a day for 3 weeks, but that has since dropped back off to nothing. Any thoughts will be greatly appreciated.

I think you are going to be more specific on your methods and what kind of keywords you are targeting.
 
I have done wiki posts, blog posts, directory submissions, etc...

As for the key words they are not huge but having to do with neighbourhoods, tree lined streets and the likes.
 
best ways to find the locations to get these? I am looking to increase his traffic to about 100 UV per day as a starting point.
 
Have you imposed social media campaign along with your organic link building perhaps that will help to increase traffic, give your audience what they want let them know the benefits of your product for sure traffic will follow.:driver:
 
Like Poloy said, social media is going to get that site some good targeted traffic.

How often is the site itself updated?

Why did it drop off? Go back over it and try to figure out what you were doing when you had 100 UV a day that you're not doing now.
Something created that traffic and whatever it was isn't there or isn't happening now.
 
I would recommend using posting at forums of relevant niche to attract genuine traffic.
 
There have been a couple of SM campaigns that I ran. They never seemed to bring anything in.
The site is not often updated currently, but I am implementing a news system that he will be utilizing to update the site more often. The site is more of a targeted niche area that does not have a lot of traffic within Canada (my target market).
When I was getting 100UVs a day, I did not really do much different than I am now. I was running Directory Campaigns, as well as Wiki and SB, which I am still doing.

I will work on the social media side of things to see what I can do there, but so far I am not getting any new ideas here :(

If you have new methods (aside from traffic sites which I do not want to do as I want quality traffic not quantity 20 second views).
 
Try guest blogging. It should give you a new visitor from the blog your guest post.
 
write unique content with using keyword
