Hi All,

I'm just starting out and my first go is with an adsense project. I'm running into a few problems that you I hope someone might be able to help with.

I have read that the penguin slap can be pretty catastrophic to a new site so I'm going for article quality vs 100% blackhat and so far I have:

  1. Selected a niche which I know a little bit about - keyword planner shows 10,540 searches/mo - with a relatively high bid
  2. Registered a new domain - 23 chars long + .info - just over 1 month ago (keywords in the domain)
  3. Written bespoke word press articles - 3 at the moment; I have been doing around 1 a week on and off.
  4. Adsense 2/3 blocks on each page.
  5. Enrolled to google webmaster tools
  6. Submitted to Bing/DMOS/trustdirectoy (still pending)
  7. posted a few twitter responses where relavant
  8. run the site through site analyzer (75%)

Google analytics is reporting 12 sessions in total - 3 this week (I have exempted my own IP address from analytics)

So my questions broadly are:

Is is normal to get this level of traffic at this stage? - aside from keep writing articles is there anything else I can do to elevate the site up traffic wise? - I'm not expecting 1000's of visitors right now, but a token motivational double figure a week would be nice.

Should I be submitting my site to one of these auto-backlink sites? - or is that a bad idea for a new site?

Are there any other blackhat methods that are considered safe-ish?

Thanks

Well, I`m sorry to hear that you are having such a little number of visitors. But try to write more content. I usually write about 5 articles a day. Also, don`t just wait for people to come, share your site. I get around 800 visitors a day, and most of them are from fb, like 90%. Write more and share it on different platforms. I hope your site will improve and get you a little extra money, or even more. Have a good day, cheers!
