I changed domain and after two weeks the site tripled traffic for two weeks, now it's back to the initial levels of the old domain, what does this mean?

Maybe Google was testing your new domain, typically when you do a change of domain search traffic drops. At least according to my experience and others I have observed. After a while it picks back up and slow climbs to the previous level and sometimes surpasses it.

Yours acted differently, give it time and perhaps send some links to power your domain.

now, it's gotten worse, we went from 50,000 impressions to 2,500 per day

there are many fewer pages but the position of those that remain is stable, it has not worsened, but out of 5000 pages those that bring traffic are only 600

hint, key problem here is "5000 pages" .

Even though you think this is small, I suggest now you have discovered what a fresh domain can do, test with much smaller and targetted subsets..... actually small, not thousands. I know it is annoying, but not to give everything away, you might discover something pretty nice if you know what I mean.

Once you fuck up a domain like this, it takes long to even get it back, so use a clean one.

ok, but I'm changing the domain of a site that already had 5000 pages indexed on google, it's the new domain of the old one reported to google

Looks like your traffic is back to where it was. You might want to double-check that all redirects from the old domain are working properly.

This suggests that Google initially evaluated your new domain favorably, but then the algorithms drove traffic back down to previous levels. You may have experienced a temporary “fresh site boost” effect. For a permanent boost, you should continue with strong content and SEO efforts.

but do sites like whitepress, getfluence and collaborator.pro help or make things worse? I have seen several very strong competitor sites that make massive use of it, they also buy items from very authoritative sites

this is the graph of the old domain, the domain change started on December 10th, before the domain change the traffic of the old one was about 900 clicks per day, now the new domain since February 4th has dropped to 200 clicks per day
