Traffic dropped after removing AMP

My traffic dropped around 10% for a few consecutive days after removing AMP plugin. I also noticed that I encountered CLS load time problem. I think this problem might come from the Adsense Autoads.

Should I put my AMP plugin back to fix these issues or these are just temporary?

maybe disable Adsense autoads? I removed that long ago since they put big ads below the content title and CLS became red.

So far I experienced, adsense doesn't show ads properly on AMP view.

After disabled AMP plugin, use Redirection from
/(.*)\/amp
to
https://www.yourwebsite.com/$1
my traffic didn't drop

Maybe tell us why did you remove AMP in the first place?
AMP is incredible for your page experience, but it doesn't work with auto ads, you have to manually set up your ad placements.
And no, the traffic won't go back to normal, unless you make your web pages as fast as AMP is.

We have very similar GSC charts, I wonder if we are in the same niche haha

Before making such moves, you should have been sure what percentage of your traffic comes from AMP pages. If it doesn't hurt, no need removing it.

Yes, this question also came to my mind when I read this thread.

@anthemspringer What made you delete it man? I know there have been discussion in this forum that AMP is dead, but that doesn't mean that you should disable it right now.

I have a website for which only AMP pages are fetching traffic. I would never disable it for sure.

Thanks, I will try removing the autoads. I'm very confused as the results for CLS on page speed web dev are inconsistent, sometimes it's 0 and sometimes it's over 0.3ms. In my GSC, I have hundreds of poor URLs because of CLS issue.

The first day I removed AMP, I forgot to set the redirects. I only set the redirects after the next day. As you can see from the chart, the traffic decreased compared to the last two weeks.

Because I read that Google didn't give preference to AMP websites anymore and removing it could potentially increase the adsense earnings. I just thought that there were more advantages of removing the amp than the disadvantages.
 
Maybe further questions, did you force your mobile visitor to visit AMP? I didn't do that so yeah I can assume that my visitors only view the non-AMP. Even from search result doesn't bring people to my AMP pages.

Google never said they prefer AMP pages anyway - but AMP improves your page experience a lot which will in the end make your pages rank higher.

I see huge amount of different amp URLs in SERP. It means they make traffic, it means amp is not dead at all )

It was weird, during the traffic decrease, my ranking didn't change, but my impression dropped and clicks improved for almost every keyword that I rank on the first page.

However, I faced issues with poor CLS scores for mobiles (almost all urls). Does anyone how to fix this? I have used WP Rocket to set images' dimensions but thw problem still occurs.

Placing ads above the fold will increase CLS tho

Just like Hawkeye said, just let it be because any changes to CWV will generate its report after 28 days. Just keep "Validate Fix" in GSC.
