Traffic down, Is this because of changing theme?

Seems like when I changed the theme to generatepress, the traffic is reduced. Previously, I was in Publisher theme(mythemeshop).:mad:

Any suggestion, what should i do or should I wait few days to get it to settle?:(

Yep, it can happen - "Google dance". Did you also edit your pages (like change page builder)?

Give it a week or two and see if it bounces back.

Only Changing the website theme won't influence the current SEO of your site.

If you change the existing URLs, meta labels and content may affect your SERP result.

To beat that compassionately produce more search clicks, links from quality pages, and share your site socially.

No, only I changed the theme, rest are all same.
 
no i tried changing my themes, and i don't see any traffic drop

Okay.

Is the internal linking different? For example, if you didn't use sidebars/certain links in footer - and now it's changed with the new theme? But either way, just changing the theme can have those effects, so just wait a while or switch back to the old theme.

Nope, same internal linking. I saw all the links and sidebar are intact as before. Some of the keywords are dancing in page 2 to 5 or nowhere.

Alright, well give it a week or two (if you want the new theme), or swap back again and see if it helps.

Who knows, it might not even have anything to do with the theme change - Could be a coincidence.

Yes.. You should wait for some time to get stable which is happening due to G Dance...
 
Same here, changed theme and lost traffic.
But IMHO google small update, many people has position dance
 
Yes. I too faced the same issue early and traffic got stable in a week time...
 
I have seen couple of threads regarding this, it’s quite possible that this may be happening and the only way to recover is to recrawl the site, and then wait for traffic to recover
 
Changed theme can 100% affect your rankings, confirmed by John Muller before, just wait and see if Google can pick up the signal, after that you may have a better ranking! (maybe)
 
Alright, thanks, will wait for a week or so, then see what should I do.
 
if you didn't change the url/meta tag/content, changing only the theme should not effect your SEO. might be happening due to google dance. give it some time, see if it recovers.
 
I dont think the theme can affect it as far your content is same. Give it sometime and it will be same old traffic.
