Traffic disappeared after site being down 36 hours

Hey,

Bluehost, suspended my site without really looking at it. They assumed it was a tube site, simply because of how it looked, even though its a Movie Review Site.

They have since lifted the suspension, not even an apology. Typical BlueHost, over and over again. The site was down for about 36 hours and I have since moved to HostGator who aren't as Nazi about everything.

My question is, my site was previously getting about 1500 uniques a day before it was suspended. Since being back up its only getting about 100... the first day anyway.

All traffic was virtually google.

Has anyone had anything similar happen to this?

I have had the same thing happen to my website. I had ~20 visitors a day and now it's dropped to zero. I was moving my website from iPage to Hostgator and it was down for 72 hours.
 
is this natural? will it go back to where it was or do you need to start from the ground and build up again?
 
just add content, more backlinks
and it will go back to normal
 
Hostgator are good man. They allow adult content and they actually defend your site if people complain about it. Also there technical help is amazing.

Bluehost on the other hand are just a pile of crap, thats why moved from bluehost to hostgator.

This is only my opinion of course.
 
Don't worry, it'll be back. I lost my wallet about a month ago and cancelled my credit cards.

While I was waiting for a new card, a hiosting account got suspended. It was only a feeder site so I wasn't too worried. It lost all it's rankings.

I then decided to change the host while it was offline, so allup it was offline for about 2 weeks.

i did nothing to it other than reauthenticate in webmaster tools. It came back to all it's old positions. No link building - no new content.
 
Yes, you traffic will disappear... your ranking may fall down. In fact someone told me that Google penalizes sites for downtime error.

Of course it does. Site down == this site does not exists until it's back. To the OP, just wait and your traffic/ranking should be back.
 
this is natural, your site will be up in 2-3 days. Now a days Google is so sensitive that if your site goes down even for 5-6 hours, it gets removed from search results quickly.
Now as you said your site is up, wait for 2-3 days and it will be back again on serp's :)
 
Just 10 more cents. If you're using their webmaster tools. You may want to remove the sitemap if you had one and then resubmit the sitemap. This way G will know instantly your site is back and it may reindex it faster.

With the above trick I remember getting more links indexed faster thus doing this will protect your original content.
 
mine got hacked and byebye to my unique views. trying to gain back now
