Traffic bot chewing through proxy bandwidth...

Hi all,

Does anyone know how to reduce the amount of bandwidth being used while using proxies and a traffic bot?

I'm using "Epic Traffic Bot" to send traffic to a specific URL. I'm subscribed to webshare proxies ($11 for 500 proxies) and it comes with 250gb monthly bandwidth. I thought this would be HEAPS because I'm not transferring any large data. But after sending about 8,000 visits to the URL last night, I woke up and saw that it chewed through about 50gb of my monthly bandwidth. --

Something about this doesn't seem right because the website I'm targeting doesn't even have images on it. It's mainly just text.

Any advice or tips?

I think he's asking you to figure out the page's mb/kb size and then calculate how many of those would fit into the GBs you purchased.
Regardless, with that proxy provider you're using you can purchase unlimited bandwidth if you need to.

It's more expensive obviously but at least you wouldn't have to worry about using all of it.
 
Why don't you get proxies with PORT-based pricing, which offer unlimited bandwidth? Check the marketplace, there are several services with this pricing model.

Also, an idea (although I never used actually a traffic bot): Can you set it up to get the URL without the media (images, svg, etc), because a plain HTML/CSS/JS page is quite lightweight.
 
Optimize the page, images and videos size. Try to "lazy load" media. Traffic bot should pick up only visible portion of the page, which is subtle.

Hey guys thanks for responding! Only just seeing your replies now.

I fixed the issue by blocking images on the bot! I'm now only using around 20gb per 12,000 views, which is actually fine for what I need. Next month when I renew my subscription I'll sign up for the 5000gb plan. It will be overkill but I definitely won't have to worry.

I think also the issue my bandwidth was being chewed was because of my URL refer list. I was loading websites like Twitter, Facebook, Reddit, Pinterest etc.. - Now I'm only using Google.
 
Wow, dude its crazy how am doing the same exact thing that you are doing, (using proxies for traffic)
