i have found a very good niche keyword related to jewelry... the number of searches is pretty high.. "18,000" exact searches... and only 35000 searches in google (when searched in quotes)... however majority of the competition comprises of sites that sell the product.. none are the ones that have any articles written on them..

what i was curious about is that is it possible to beat competition by writing number of articles on the product.. any options?..cheers :)

I have the same question.
I find one keyword with 111,00 exact searches per month and 221,000,000 competitors without quotes and 17,100 competitors with quotes.

what i mean is in does google give weight to a lot of content written about a particular topic or some site which just sells the product will be given weightage.. i basically wanna understand how difficult it would be to beat the competition.. also how do i evaluate the strength of competition...

If you are targeting google, then look for number of unique backlinks to your competition. You could out rank them with written content if you can get more quality backlinks than your competition.
