I think that trading which is purely based on chart is a just a gambling (specially small marketcaps where teams can dump their bags whenever they want).

Many of Twitter's influencers try to predict coins next move based on chart, but that's a mistake imo.
There are many parameters that are stronger than chart, such as (BTC/ALTS movement, Token's value/news, Marketmakers decision whether to pump/dump it...etc)

Yes it is like gambling only. Some people like whales can always be in profit from this as they can manipulate the market.

Currencies, no. Cryptos, yes.

While real currencies have impact on real economies, thus monetary policy can be easily predicted, with the proper knowledge of economics, cryptos don't have any impact on anything, really, so if the price doubles or goes to half, it won't change a thing. So moves are more random.

Yes, in 99% of times it's gambling.

Future trading is gambling but Forex is not gambling. If you buy cryptocurrencies and sell them after sometime, then it's not gambling. For instance, currencies trading on IQ Option is what I would call gambling. I remember, putting an option where I would predict whether after 05 minutes, the graph would go up or down. I could predict both Up and Down. With every right prediction, I would get double the money and lose the money whenever prediction went wrong.

Now, coming to cryptocurrencies. It's nothing like that. It's like gold. You buy gold, keep it safe with yourself and when it's price is high, you go to the market and sell it to the merchant. This is it. Pretty straight forward.

Cryptocurrency is both an investment and a way to make money. On one hand, investing in cryptocurrency means you are taking on the risk of lost funds; however if successful it can bring significant profits as well. Especially when considering today's high prices! A more accurate description would be calling crypto trading/gambling rather than just "gambling."

will nitpick on this for a bit: its not a mistake, is part of how these guys get engagement and a following. they are doing well and in no way are idiots; the mistake is on the guys giving too much weight to what they say
Forex is not gambling
i agree, sometimes you can win gambling :p

yeah it is but with a better odds if you now how to control your risk

It is 100% not gambling :) People that think that just have no idea what trading really is and how it works.

You will get losses. But all you have to do is to be just 40% times right and if you know your math and you have a ratio (forgot how it's called - basically when you loose, you loose 1. When you win, you win 3 for ex.). You see.. I know about traders that are 85% times right but their ratio is shit and make less money than guys that are 50% times right.

  • There are two common traits in those who exhibit gambling tendencies when trading.
  • If a person trades for excitement or social proofing reasons, rather than in a methodical way, they are likely trading in a gambling style.
  • If a person trades only to win, they are likely gambling. Traders with a 'must-win' attitude will often fail to recognize a losing trade and exit their positions.

Pretty much more than 60% of all "day traders" are just gamblers. Day trading is like playing SLOTS, just a little smarter with a higher chance of "winning".
that is just my humble opinion, I know way too many people who have lost lots of money like this, most of them through forex.

Day trading is not playing slots dude xD It's just people are stupid and naive - and too lazy to learn how to do it correctly. But there is no way that you compare trading with slots

To anyone thinking casino = gambiling. Please, watch this. It pretty much sums it up:

Unfortunately the advantage of higher chance to win has no value today as the mass buys late, sell early... you know, just doing mistake the mass regulary do.

In these online days too many people are trying things they have no senses for, just because it's easy af... that's why I take crypto as a gamble overally, while I still believe there are many people really interested and their chances of losing money are way lower than in casino or sportsbooks.

I'd much rather invest in sp500 monthly/weekly than day trade, day trading is taking a lot of risks, whereby just investing is the safer way to make money, why do day traders trade? To make a quick buck.

To make quick buck? Dude - day trading is definitely not a fast way to make money. You clearly don't understand how pro traders make money with day trading. Make research first - then judge the way people can make money. Of course - there are too many amateurs that risk more than 1% of their account with every trade and do crazy shit and get away because of their emotions - but real traders make consistent money overtime.

I guarantee to you - that day traders that make money actually don't make them fast. If you think they do - again you clearly have no idea about day trading because it seems like you think day trades go all in on every trade :D ahhhh

It is gambling for 99% of people even if they do not admit it.
If you have a working method that generate 20% profit per year on capital and is scalable , you will work on growing it instead of investing the capital on some random crypto currency.

Trading It's like any other job...if you don't know what you're doing... yes it s gambling. but answer is NO

It's all about risk management, you can per say ¨gamble¨, but if you have a good win/loss ratio and your risking .5% per trade you should be good.

It´s all MENTAL. HUGE MENTAL GAME
Finally somebody who actually knows what he is talking about +
