Trademark Username Claim Instagram

can you still do this?

i have had a friend do this for me before around 10 years ago for a brand we founded bk then, im wondering if the process still works and if its worth trademarking just to claim?

i also own the domain exactly as the username is, for example, my domain is domain.com, and the username i want to claim is @domain.com

thanks for the reply, im mainly wondering if its as easy as it was before
i believe before my friend only registered a trademark in the uk and was able to get the username, wondering if ill possibly need an international trademark instead? the difference in time/cost is fairly significant for me

do u know if international trademark is needed or a trademark in a country like the uk is good enough?
