Tracking Calls to Business

Hello my fellow offline marketers,

I need a way to track incoming calls a business is receiving from my ranking efforts. There was a self hosted phone call script I saw here a long time ago, but I can't remember the name.

Can anyone help me out?

This is also a problem that I need to find a solution for.

So far I have seen one competition, which I guess is using an self-made system.
Everytime someone calls a client, who found their number in the internet, they hear short tracking voice before the actual call.

This way, clients know exactly how many calls came from the internet.

I think you have to simply show a different number in the internet, but then you might run into problems with Google Places, regardin 2 different numbers.

I am looking for something similar. I have thought about setting up google voice number and forwarding it to the business and just tracking the call records. Only down side i see is then the number wouldn't actually be the business number on the website...

phonebooth is what i use for this. $20 a month you get 2 numbers. you can order additional numbers at $1 each. you can set up voice menus and all kinds of stuff. you can also track the calls.

Easiest solution is virtual numbers and call forwarding services. Will involve paying a monthly fee of course.

grasshopper is a good way to go, there packages start at $10 a month and you track and even listen to calls made if you want to prove a sale was made.

I provide this function with my seo services, I use a script to display a number depending on where they come from, google, social media, its all tracked, recorded, with location from where the call came. This will help you provide the data for your clients. Pm for more info.

Here's a major low tech way, but I know it has worked for some of my friends... on one ad put "ask for Tom," another "ask for John." etc. lol... worked well for him!...I like Callfire too, $3/3 months of a number, plus 5 cents a minute. Pretty damn good rates. I can recommend Callfire, Google voice is good too and free, but getting more than one number is a pia, max you'd easily get is probably 2, using your home phone and cell phone. Throwaway digits could also work, I believe you can get some of em for less than $1/month.
