Track down

Hello,

A friends YouTube account was hacked/compromised, and many unpublished videos made public.
He now ha control back of his account, but wanted to know the best way to track down the party behind this.
Any advise tips would be greatly appreciated.

Has your friend lost any money because of this?
If not then tell him to forget about it and secure his accounts.
His account may have been compromised but it is not worth spending time to track the person down unless your friend was personally targeted.

Get his IP address from Youtube -> Last IPs to log in. Then search for an IP locator and you will have his exact street address. Then you and your friend can grab your glocks and f*ck him up.

Just kidding, there's no way to track that. Perhaps his password was easy to guess, or his security questions could be answered by someone who knew him well with a little bit of social engineering. Either way, he messed up and is paying the consequences. Live and learn.
